Car Industry sources say that General Motors will start building this car in
Detroit in 2011. There is no release date yet in Australia.
The Chevy Volt concept car debuted at 2007 Detroit Motor Show.
Larry Burns, GM's vice president of research and development and strategic
planning, said at present the company was focused on bringing the new car to the
US market by 2010.
"We're keeping our options open with what we do with the Volt on a worldwide
basis," he said. "Our immediate focus is to get this car developed and get it in
the market in the United States.
